摘要

MTDATA has been used to model the mercury vapour pressure above various amalgams. This can be related to the luminous flux provided by low-pressure mercury fluorescent lamps and therefore provides a means by which costly and time consuming experimental work can be avoided. MTDATA uses critically assessed thermodynamic data for the various phases of the elements and binary solutions and combines them using well tested and reliable methods to predict the thermodynamic and phase equilibria for multicomponent systems. In this paper the methods used for deriving the assessed data and the results of the calculations are described and explained.
