Emf measurements are often used to determine the thermodynamic properties of metallic systems. Today in most cases solid electrolytes are used for these investigations. In this work the use of liquid electrolytes, which might give better and more reliable results for certain applications should be pointed out. The aim of thermodynamic studies of metallic systems is the accurate determination of partial and integral thermodynamic properties in dependence of concentration, temperature and pressure. These data are needed to improve the physical and mechanical properties of alloys and to get more accurate results at phase- diagram calculations.
