摘要

How to reduce the enery required for CO_2 recovery is one of the most important points in recovering CO_2 from flue gas according to the chemical absorption methods. Previously, we reported the performance and characteristics of KS-2, an energy-saving absorbent, at ICCDR-3 in Cambridge, MA, USA, and, at the same time, discussed about a power generation plant and an optimum steam system for CO_2 recovery as well as their calculation emthods. We have continued the development of energy-saving absorbents and have succeeded in developing KS-3 absorbent which can achieve better energy-saving than KS-1 and KS-2 which we have already developed. In this paper, we are reporting the performance of KS-3 and also the evaluation of the effect of SOx and dust contained in coal firing boiler flue gas on the absorbent and the method of their treatment which we have continued to carry out. Furthermore, we will describe a steam system requiring minimum modification of the existing power plants to recover CO_2.
