Feature-Based Model and Design Advisory Systems (DAS) for feature based design environment were given significant attention to reduce errors during design development stage. The dependent associative relationships of features and the design rules of DAS are checked as constraints. In case of constraint violation, an under-defined and/or ill-defined feature gets added and for DAS, corrective measures are suggested to the designer. When an attribute value is dependent on another attribute or a suggestion is dependent on an attribute, which is a subject of another constraint, dependency surfaces. Represented as the Transitive Asymmetric Complete (TAC) digraph, the dependency relationships or constraionts are identified with four distinctive structural forms: chain, circuit, directed acyclic, and embedded. Handling techniques are presented to develop the addressing sequence of the dependent attributes and constraints for all four forms.
