摘要

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the influence of critical spray parameters on mechanical properties of FeCu/Al{sub}2O{sub}3 coatings developed with HVOF, using nanophased powder as feedstock material. For this reason, the Taguchi design of experiments method was used for the development and optimization of process parameters and coating properties. An L9 table was used for the evaluation of the effect of spray parameters. Coating microhardness, adhesion strength, porosity and deposition efficiency - thickness were the properties that were evaluated. Results showed clearly that each spray parameter affects in a different way and percentage each property. Utilization of nanophased thermal spray coatings could potentially offer new, more effective low friction solutions, with economic benefits to the end-users.
