摘要

The present study aims to evaluate the interfacial strength of bonded aluminum foils in a few hundred micrometer thickness range using the LASAT technique. The sample is made of aluminum foils (thickness: 100μm), bonded with a layer of glue (adhesive). Samples were exposed to different laser power densities to achieve the de-bonding threshold. The delamination or integrity of the samples was determined by analyzing the time resolved Rear Free Surface Velocity (RFSV) measurements performed on the side opposite to that irradiated with laser. The results obtained from the RFSV measurements were also validated by cross sectional examination of the samples. Numerical simulation of shock wave propagation in stuck assemblies helps in understanding the origin of traction inside such targets.
