The challenge of today's computer systems design is a highly complicated and critical process. As advances in microprocessor technology are enabling faster clock speeds, 300MHz and beyond, and as more functions are integrated with these processor chips, of course power consumption increases too. This results in the incredibly challenging task for the power system designers to deliver this power in the tight thermal envelope within the constrains of the mobile PC environment. Users demand the fast migration of the newest microprocessor technology for desktops to enter the mobile PC products.
