摘要

The respiratory disease caused by Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Mh) and complicated by Pasteurella multocida (Pm) and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (Ap) causes major economic losses to the global swine industry. Therefore to reduce losses, treatment ofaffecicd animals with effective anti-mycoplasmal drugs is very important. Recently a new derivative of pleuromutilin, valnemulin (VA) ("Econor~(R)", Novartis Animal Health, Basle, Switzerland) was developed for this purpose. Based on previously encouraging results with the timulin (TI) + chlortetracycline (CTC) combination the purpose of these studies was to lest the in-vitro efficacy of VA alone and in combination with CTC, againsi certain pathogenic mycoplasmas of swine and for the treatment of pigsinfected with Mh, Pm and Ap, in comparison with TI + CTC and tilrmcosin (PU) (Pulmotil -Elanco).
