Corn stalk rot is one of the most important soil-borne diseases of corn worldwide. This disease is also widespread in different corn growing districts of China. Its pathogenicity and control of epidemic have been reported in many papers, but pathogenic factors and action mechanism of the pathogens on corn are not systematically studied. So, the purpose of this study was to determine the kinds and activity of cell-wall-degrading enzymes (CWDE) produced by corn stalk rot pathogen.
