Although the scale dependency of terrain surface shape is widely recognised it is rarely considered in DTM accuracy assessment. This paper emphasises the scale dependency of terrain surface as an element of uncertainty. The application of the wavelet transform as an overall mathematical framework for the estimation of the uncertainty related to scale and for DTM accuracy assessment considering scale is (investigated and) discussed.
