A new method for the preparation of ferroelectric crystallites with sizes around 10nm was proposed. Using this method, barium titanate (BaTiO_3) crystallites with sizes below 10nm were prepared for the first time. Moreover, TEM study revealed that one particle was a BaTiO_3 single-crystal. The characterization of these crystallites revealed that BaTiO_3 crystallites prepared using this method had a lot of hydroxyl group of 11 percent and Ba vacancies.
