The w/o/w-encapsulated emulsion solvent evaporation method, which is a common technique for preparing microparticles but has a large number of reaction control parameters, involves many parameters that may affect the properties of microparticles. NaCl in the continuous aqueous phase could improve the loading content, loading efficiency and reduce the burst release was reported~1. Although numerous studies have used the w/o/w technique, the underlying physicochemical mechanisms of polyester solvent evaporation under conditions of microparticle production have not been well described yet. Moreover, the protein-loaded distribution of encapsulation in terms of protein loading efficiency and release profiels is often not entirely satisfactory and depends greatly on the specific drug and polymer used.
