Recently, the demand for novel biodegradable polymer as a component of drug carrier to avoid the accumualtion toxicity of the carrier have been increased in the field of drug delivery system. We already reported the preparation and characterization of the micelle formed from block copolymer consisted from poly(ethylene glycol) and biodegradable poly(D,L-lactide) (PEG-PDLLA). Thee micelle have reactive aldehyde groups at the end of PEG (reactive polymeric micelle)~1,2. Then, conjugation of tyrosine (Tyr) and anionic peptidyl ligand (tyrosyl-glutamic acid, Tyr-Glu) was conducted to modulate the surface charge as a model for further improvement in the biofunctionality of biodegradable micellar drug carriers~3.
