Recent information about the incidence of Hepatitis C (HCV) around the world clearly indicates that the virus is a major public health issue:the estimated worldwide prevalence is approximately 1%.The need to rapidly identify new therapeutic approaches has resulted in intensive study of the molecular properties of this virus,yet thus far no efficient therapy or vaccine exists.
