Operational Characterization of Cooling Systems Coupled with Positive and Negative Tunnel Ventilation in Broiler Chicken Houses in Southwest of Goias

Thermal environments of three acclimatized broiler houses were evaluated and compared. The broiler houses were chosen based on the type of ventilation and cooling system adopted. The first facility was not equipped with an acclimatization system (WS),the second broiler house was equipped with a negative pressure tunnel ventilation system coupled to a fogging system (SW), and the third had a positive pressure tunnel ventilation system coupled to a misting system (SF). The broiler houses were locatedin the Southwest of Goias State, Brazil, and the data were measured from August to December. Air temperature (T_(air)), relative humidity (RH), black-globe humidity index (BGHI), radiant heat load (RHL) were obtained and determined for each broiler houseat 2h intervals throughout the day at 21, 30, 39 and 48 days of bird age at two points inside of the broiler house.
