摘要

Oxidative carbonylation of methanol using cuprous chloride as catalysts is the main method in the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate. However the product water causes the catalysts losing activity and corroding the reactor. In this paper dimethyl carbonate was synthesized by co-feeding methanol and dimethyl ether via oxidative carbonylation method. It indicates that the yield of dimethyl carbonate is improved by adding dimethyl ether that consumes product water by hydrolysis. The effect of adding dimethyl ether on the reaction was investigated. The catalyst is the mechanical mixture of two kinds of catalysts, one is used in the hydrolysis of dimethyl ether and the other for the oxidative carbonylation of methanol.
