The heaven has three treasures: the moon, the stars and the sun The earth possesses three treasures: water, earth and fire The human being is enlightened by three treasures: JING, QI and SHEN The wise application of these treasures makes us free untileternity This "equine classic" has been written down in the year 1635. The major part of its content comes without any doubt from older sources, (translator: M. Heerde) Zhang Wei writes in the preamble to the horse classic that all and any creatures hadtheir very own QI... and that the theories of the ZANG -FU organs, of the channels, were identical to those of a human being. As the Three Treasures are saved in the ZANG -FU and QI flows in the meridians, this theory of the Three Treasures applies to the animal in the same way as to the human being.
