A PRMA permitting multiple reservation with a multibeam adaptive array has been investigated considering uplink performance improvement. In this paper, a downlink multiplexing method for TDD packet radio networks with the multibeam adaptive array is investigated. The transmission weight is calculated using the array response vector obtained in uplink, and downlink SINR of each terminal is estimated from the obtained weights to decide multiplexing possibility. In downlink slots, the base station searches states of downlink slots in the previous frame for the number of multiplexing users. If it is not equal to the maximum, the base station selects terminals, additionally or newly, from limited terminals with long packet delay. The computer simulation results show the improvement in throughput and average packet delay without increasing processing load.
