Biosorption of Cs~+ has been investigated by new bacterial strain of Gram-positive cocobacilli bacteria isolated from Ramsar warm springs, Iran. In the initial concentration of 100 ppm the binding sites are occupied considerably, and the removal efficiency is 19.954%. The maximum biosorption capacity is obtained in pH 6 and 60 min of contact time. Presence of the other cations such as Na~+, K~+, Sr~(2+) and Co~(2+) reduced the biosorption capacity, but sodium acid, high temperature and gamma ray are ineffective. Biosorbed Cs, successfully recovered by oxalic acid (0.1 M), nitric acid (0.1 M), sodium carbonate (0.1 M) and EDTA (0.025 M), is over 95%.
