Commercial-purity titanium (ASTM grade 2) center-notched specimens were tested in this work. Room temperature fatigue crack growth tests were carried out with three distinct load ratios (minimum to maximum): R = 0.1, 0.3 and 0.5. The macroscopic crack growth rate was calculated from the experimental data obtained by optical means. The fracture surfaces were observed by SEM and some of their morphological characteristics, mainly those of the fatigue striations, were analyzed. The results on striation spacing and morphology were correlated to the loading parameters and the fatigue crack growth rate.
