Yohkoh has provided new observations of the X-ray corona for over 10 years and has made several advances in understanding magnetic origins of the heating and energy releases in the corona. We have, especially, learned much about weak transient activities, such as jets and transient brightenings (microflares) from Yohkoh observations and also from EUV observations by the SOHO and TRACE spacecraft. Some observations have been published, clearly showing a key role of magnetic flux just after newly emerging from below the surface. These observations can be explained by an emerging flux model.
