Porcine circovirus type 2 associated disease (PCVAD) and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae (Mhp) are important systemic and respiratory diseases of swine. For the most part, PCVAD and Mhp are controlled by vaccinating pigs at an early age. In addition, breeding herds may use these vaccines to stabilize the herd and booster maternal immunity to protect offspring. It is unclear if sow vaccination influences the vaccination response in young pigs. Accordingly, the objectives of the experiments reported here were to evaluate dam serological responses after vaccination and the effect of maternally-derived antibody (MDA) on pig serological responses following two vaccinations with 1 mL of Circumvent PCV M G2 (G2) at weaning and four weeks later.
