Near-stoichiometric LiNbO_(3) crystals doped with 50 ppm Mn were grown by the top-seeded solution method. Two-color holographic recording was performed with a near-IR laser of 778 nm for writing and a violet laser of 407 nm for gating. The crystals were annealed in three different oxidation/reduction atmospheres. Holographic storage properties, two-color recording, sensitivity, dynamic range M/#, activity energy and dark decay time were measured and compared. These results were explained reasonably by measuring characteristic parameters, OH~(-) absorption, induced absorption change, and lifetime of small polaron τ_(s) of these crystals.
