摘要

The satellite navigation system Galileo is projected to offer an integrity service for Safety-of-Life (SoL) applications. This service includes the provision of several signals-in-space (SIS). The signals allow to determine the range to the user. Each signal contains an integrity information. This integrity function is to identify if the service will be outside the limits of the specified performance. In addition, the system provider has to assure that all elements have been established and are operated according to high safety standards. An indorsement of a supranational organization is needed as a certification for SoL use. Furthermore, the global service certificates should be accompanied by endorsements of a number of relevant authorities responsible for certification for specific user applications. Each of these authorities may require specific evidences in addition to the provided system certification. Certification of a navigation system for safety critical applications is a prerequisite for the public acceptance of the system.
