摘要

The description of the wining of Dimension Stone Blocks of silver granite in the Sao Paulo city in Brazil by mining is our main objective. The silver rock commercially named, as Interlagos Granite is used as engineering material in the civil construction area, either as outside or inside cover of walls and floors or for other parts, as plates in kitchens and bathrooms, and also in the artistic usage little blocks for monuments. The block mining is a secondary activity of the mining enterprise Viterbo Machado Luz Ltda. that produces as main product sand as aggregates in the civil construction. The exposed blocks by the removed cover are extracted by conventional methods of splitting blocks as a boulder quarry. The technique used normally does not use explosive, due to the good splitting of blocks in the three orthogonal directions. The kind of quarry is a conventional boulder extraction quarry. The complete mining sequence of the block wining and its transportation from the quarry situated about 20 km from the center of the Sao Paulo city will by given. Some environmental aspects are also considered as the noise and dust and water recycling.
