Laser application and ultracision technique have brought significantly advantages in abdominal surgery in adults. There are only a few reports in children's surgery.The Neodym-YAG-Laser (1064 run - contact application, 400 u barefibre, 40 - 65 Watt, 1-2 mm/sec, movement) has been used in abdominal tumor surgery in children and in organ resections (see below) in order to dissect the tumor out of its surroundings. The ultracision technique (nano-surgery) has been used for the vascular surgical part. The intraoperative ultrasound was of essential help to identify dislocated vessels.
