In the performance of a joinery binder,exterior durability tests play a most critical role.Four generations of water based joinery binders have been evaluated over the last decade at the Rohm and Haas exposure station in the South of France.Exposure at this site have proven in the past to mimic real time conditions and in fact accelerate expected outcomes by a factor 1.5 to 2x in time.Outdoor exposure experiences on three previous generations of water based acrylic binders have allowed us to develop a new water based acrylic joinery binder.Up to three years of exposure history on this latest binder in clear and pigmented formulations on different wood types are now available and will be shared during this presentation.Results indicate that our latest joinery technology delivers comparable to better exposure results compared to other commercially available water based joinery binders.
