The paper deals on the influence of substrate surface tension on the adherence between the coating,varnishes,and the substrate.For this purpose,the advanced contact angle of different varnishes on different wood based panels and different species,were analysed.Later,these varnishes were applied on the substrates.These varnishes,from four chemical compositions and two kind of curing systems were applied by spraying.The obtained adherence results are studied in relation to contact angle,and to other properties related to the adherence mechanism,such as the substrate absorption,roughness and curing system.
