We propose a new method of manipulating carbon nanotubes using a rotational magnetic field. We show that iron-contained multi-walled carbon nanotubes (Fe@CNTs) can be moved along the surface of a magnetic substrate by applying a rotational magnetic field. In this method, the direction of the movement of Fe@CNTs can be altered by changing the direction of the rotational magnetic field and therefore, Fe@CNTs can be positioned anywhere on the magnetic substrate.
