摘要

Proinflammatory nociceptive molecules such as serotonin, ATP, bradyki-nin and substance P are involved in the peripheral sensitisation in patients with symptomatic osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in respect to the interaction with polymodale peripheral receptors such as P2X receptors and TRPV1 receptors, which become sensitised and lower their threshold with the result that the input to the central nervous system increases. Our group could show some of these receptors, as well as the DREAM gene, in synovial fibroblasts from osteoarthritic and rheumatoid arthritic joints, which was, until now, unknown. These molecules might become important in terms of therapeutical approaches to ameliorate the situation of chronic pain patients.
