摘要

Forest soils are an important sink but also a potential source of atmospheric carbon. The pool of humic matter in forest soils and the chemical composition of the humic material are related to environmental site conditions. It is supposed that future climate changes will induce widespread alterations of forest site conditions and vegetation in the northern hemisphere. Thus it is necessary to analyze how changes in vegetation, microclimate and necromass production affect the composition of the humic material in forest soils.A high-elevation Norway spruce forest in southern Germany, where the trees recently(< 20 yr)had been killed by bark beetle infestation was used as a case study to investigate the effects of changed microclimatic conditions and modified litter input on the chemical composition of soil organic matter.
