Inhibiting cellular deoxynucleotide synthesis to is being evaluated to treat HIV infection based on the success of clinical trials in which the activity of the reverse transcriptase inhibitor (RTI) ddI was enhanced by the RR inhibitor HU. This report shows the ability of RRIs HU, TX, and DX to enhance the anti-viral activity of ABC, ddI, and TFV in-vivo.
