Shiga toxin-producing Escherlchia coli (STEC), Listeria monocytogenes, Campylobacter jejuni and Salmonella spp. are major causes of foodborne disease worldwide. Results from previous studies on 30 farms confirmed that bulk tank milk (BTM) and feces from cull dairy cows were potential sources of E. coli 0157:H7 (4) and Salmonella spp. (5). Four farms that represented diversity of farms in management styles and pathogens isolated were selected for this study.
