The degradation behavior of multi-axial warp knitted glass fabric/unsaturated polyester composites in hot water environment was investigated in this study. The specimens were immersed in water at 80°C. The weight change, bending modulus and strength were measured. The weight change of unsaturated polyester resin specimen was also measured. The experimental results showed that the net weight gain of composite and resin specimen increased with an increase in immersion time. The debondings around glass fibers were observed in the composite. As a result, the weight loss of composite was caused. The bending strength of composite decreased almost linearly against the weight loss. The bending modulus reduction was not remarkable in this material system.
