The Working Group on AI and other relevant technologies was established in 1998 at the Rotorura Session of ICAR. According to its terms of reference, its main goal is to harmonize and improve data collection and exchanges of data in AI and in other relevant technologies, such as embryo production. Those records are used directly or indirectly for genetic evaluations. It deals only with cattle. Thus, discussion matters of the group include the harmonization of relevant items to record AI or embryo recovering-transfer, the description of existing systems of data processing, the harmonization of the definition of relevant concepts and ratio used in the industry, and gathering statistics in AI and in other relevant fields. Since other specialized groups exist for a long time, it will not overlap with their work, having established contact and co-operation with them.
