Drop-shipping is an arrangement whereby an e-tailer, who does hold inventories, processes orders and requests a manufacturer/distributor to ship products directly to the customers. This research studies the efficiency of the drop-shipping channel compared to the traditional channel. We identify conditions under which the drop-shipping channel outperforms the traditional channel.
