High quality gDNA, total RNA and proteins were efficiently extracted from a single starting sample with consistent yields and high purities, regardless of microbial cell wall structure. Total RNA had the highest measurable integrity and included mRNA and other small RNA species. The spin filter purified sample was not appreciably different in the number of identified proteins or functional group classifications compared to unpurified and sodium carbonate extracted proteins. Correlations between DNA,RNA, and proteins can be made within a single starting sample.
