摘要

Multiferroic compounds, in which ferromagnetism and ferroelectricity coexist, have attracted much attention of material scientists because of their potential to application and scientific interests. Among them, perovskite chromium oxide, YCrO_3, is very characteristic because it shows ferroelectric transition at T_C = 440 K keeping centrosymmetric crystal structure as average structure [1]. It is known that spontaneous magnetization appears below T_N = 140 K because of canted antiferromagnetic ordering [2]. We are interested in magnetism and dielectric properties of chromium oxides with K_2NiF_4-type structure, because the structure includes perovsMte-related layers as shown in Fig. 1.
