Oogenesis in insects is a well studied and complex process. At present, three oostatic factors called Aea-TMOF (H-Tyr-Asp-Pro-Ala-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-Pro-OH) , Neb-TMOF (H-Asn-Pro-Thr-Asn-Leu-His-OH) , and Neb-colloostatin (H-Ser-Ile-Val-Pro-Leu-Gly-Leu-Pro-Val-Pro-Ile-Gly-Pro-Ile-Val-Val-Gly-Pro-Arg-OH) , isolated from Aedes aegypti (Aea-TMOF) and fleshfly Neobellieria bullata (Neb-TMOF and Neb-colloostatin).
