The JAXA automatic balance calibration machine was developed for improvement in the accuracy of force measurements in JAXA wind tunnels. Schematic of the balance calibration machine are introduced. To establish the operating method and to assure the calibration accuracy, math models to derive calibration matrix, temperature effects are investigated. Furthermore, calibration loads patterns are optimized to improve axial force measurement accuracy. Calibration accuracies are validated by changes in the number of combined loads, load range, measurement process of validation loads.
