摘要

Full-scale, ex situ thermal treatment of hazardous soils contaminated with chlorinated solvents was performed at a chemical distribution facility in Iowa. Site soils were impacted by concentrations of chlorinated solvents up to 3 percent with additional vola- tile organic compounds at lower concentrations. Soil concentrations exceeded the Toxic- ity Characteristic Leaching Potential limits and, as such, would have been classified as a hazardous waste if taken offsite for disposal.
