Mexico has approved an Energy Reform that is expected to booster GDP growth by 1% in 2018 and 2% by 2025 trough energy production; and foster a total of amount of investment of 300 billion USD in the energy sector (SIE, Sener). This enhanced production could have the capacity to reduce extreme poverty in Mexico by 2015 by Millennium development goals standards, and virtually eradicate it by 2020.
