摘要

We describe a pulmonary aspiration that occurred with Ambu LMA for maintaining airway during general anaesthesia in a male patient admitted for elective fixation of the fracture of right radius. Our report suggests that inadequate depth of anaesthesia may lead to pulmonary aspiration of the regurgitated gastric content.Ambu LMA is a supraglottic airway device used for maintaining airway during general anaesthesia. (Figure 1) Other supraglottic airway (SGA) devices such as classic LMA, Cobra PLA, SGA which are designed to separate airway and gastrointestinal tract such as LMA Proseal and I-Gel, had been reported to have encountered problems with aspiration but not with Ambu LMA.1 Hence, here we like to report a case.
