The first experiments were conducted to determine the lower limit of detection for the analysis of pesticides, personal care products and pharmaceuticals when spiked into river water while utilizing a nosample preparation DSA technique. It was determined that the limit of detection was between 1-10 ppb. The second experiment involved collecting water samplesfrom various water sources near a local produce farm to quickly screen the samples for pesticides. One sample in particular from a small pond showed the presents of 4 pesticides that were identified by using the AxION EC ID Elemental Composition Identification software.
