Theatre has the power to make complex societal issues and scientific content relevant and compelling, engaging the public in topics that might otherwise seem intimidating or uninteresting. The Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network (NISE Net) has created innovative dramatic and comedie programming to engage diverse public audiences in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology. NISE Net theatre performances and films have been held in museums and schools, sparking thoughtful conversations about the societal and ethical implications of nanotechnology. NISE Net is a national collaboration of museums and research institutions, funded by the National Science Foundation. The Network includes hundreds of partners, who collectively serve millions of members of the public each year.
