Considering the correlated traffic in multi-cast applications and the switching procedure in the enhanced power saving class type Ⅲ of IEEE 802.16e, a novel mathematical system model is built. Regarding the system input as a Discrete-time Batch Markovian Arrival Process (D-BMAP), we build a multiple vacation queueing model with a setup. By using the discrete-time factorization principles, some performance measures in terms of the average latency of packets and the energy saving ratio are given. Numerical results are shown to investigate the influence of the traffic correlation and the setup procedure on the system performance, and we also give the optimal design of the system parameters.
