PHR1 is a transcriptional factor involved in Pi starvation regulation in plants and has a DNA binding domain (GARP domain) that is expected to be SUMOylated for regulating the Pi starvation response. To clarify the function of SUMOylation, we synthesized the GARP domain and the SUMOylated one.
