This presentation is adapted from Flatland B, Weiser G. The Elephant in the Room (andHow to Lead it Out): In-Clinic Laboratory Quality Challenges. Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association 2013; in press. I wish to acicnowledge my manuscript co-author, Dr. Glade Weiser (Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO), for his contributions to the material in these proceedings, in particular, the possible role of instrument manufacturers/suppliers in promoting QA/QC to veterinarians.
