Erih genes which are peripheral clock genes (so-called watch genes) were discovered from Bmal2/CLIF/ARNTL2 genes using yeast two hybrid methods. Erih genes have roles as downstream of Bmal2/CLIF/ARNTL2 genes during circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythm is important to cancer treatment.First, small interfering RNAs were designed against Erih genes, and then added to cultured cells and incubated for a while. Second, the RNAs were extracted from the cultured cells, and then examined with microarray.After the addition of small interfering RNA against Erih genes, the expressions of several genes which have immunological roles were changed. These genes' products may have effects on gastric cancer treatment.The control of Erih genes may be useful to gastric cancer treatment.
