OVERVIEW - AMSAT-NA's Fox-1E (RadFXSat-2) CubeSat will feature the first linear transponding capability of the Fox-1x family of satellites. The Linear Transponder will support simultaneous, multi-channel communications using primarily CW and SSB modes. The design of the transponder will include state-of-the-art integrated circuit components to provide exceptional communications performance, while minimizing size, weight and power. Additionally, unlike previous Fox-1x CubeSats, Fox-1 E will be a V/U satellite. This means that operator uplink transmissions will require generation of VHF (2 meter) SSB/CW amateur radio signals and downlink signal reception will be via UHF (70 cm) SSB/CW signals. A separate 1200 bps BPSK modulated channel will be dedicated to downlinking CubeSat telemetry and experiment data.
